About Me

I'm a backend and platform engineer focused on building systems that scale cleanly and operate reliably in production. I enjoy working on problems where performance, correctness, and long-term maintainability matter as much as shipping features.

My work is centered around designing backend services and data platforms that support large workloads and evolving product needs. I spend a lot of time thinking about system boundaries, failure modes, and operational simplicity—how services communicate, how data flows, and how platforms can grow without becoming fragile or expensive to run.

I'm particularly interested in platform engineering and infrastructure-aware backend design. I like building shared services and internal foundations that make other teams more productive, whether that's improving latency and throughput, introducing better observability, or enabling new capabilities like AI-driven features in a way that fits naturally into existing systems.

With a strong background in computer science and applied AI, I enjoy bridging theory with real-world constraints. I value clear abstractions, pragmatic trade-offs, and engineering decisions backed by data rather than assumptions.

I'm motivated by high engineering standards, thoughtful system design, and teams that take ownership of the platforms they build.

MS in Computer Science (AI Minor) — University at Buffalo

University at Buffalo, New York, USA (2019 - 2022)

Research Fellow and Teaching Assistant for Machine Learning, DBMS, and Pattern Recognition, where I supported instruction, mentored students, and bridged theory with real-world applications.

Completed a funded master's thesis on public perception of biometric authentication systems, focusing on trust, privacy, and usability through user studies, statistical analysis, and machine learning.

Actively contributed to the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) by leading sessions, mentoring students, and encouraging greater participation of women in engineering.

BE in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering — BIT Mesra

BE in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering — BIT Mesra

BIT Mesra, Ranchi, India (2014 - 2018)

Graduated as Best Outgoing Student, building a strong foundation in problem solving, systems thinking, and engineering fundamentals.

Actively involved with Dhristi, a student-led social initiative, where we worked with nearby villages to teach children, support families, and promote access to education.

These experiences shaped my early perspective on using education and technology as tools for long-term social impact.

Experience

SS&C Technologies

San Francisco, California, USA

Software Engineer

May 2022 – Current

At SS&C, I design and operate AI-integrated backend platforms and high-performance microservices for enterprise clients. I focus on creating scalable, reliable systems that make complex workflows seamless and reduce operational overhead. My work spans distributed services, data pipelines, and AI-driven features, where I take ownership end-to-end—from system design to deployment and monitoring. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, I aim to deliver platforms that are maintainable, efficient, and impactful, helping teams ship faster while maintaining high standards. This role has strengthened my skills in platform architecture, problem-solving at scale, and engineering leadership.

BDIPLUS

New York, USA

Software Engineer

Mar 2022 – May 2022

I contributed to full-stack applications that focused on usability, reliability, and smooth integration between front-end and backend services. This experience deepened my understanding of user-focused development and how to balance feature delivery with code maintainability. I collaborated closely with designers and product managers to ensure that the solutions were both technically robust and aligned with user needs. The role helped me grow as an engineer capable of bridging product vision and backend execution.

BDIPLUS

New York, USA

Data Engineer Intern

May 2021 – Dec 2021

During this internship, I worked on data engineering pipelines for large-scale datasets, learning how to process, clean, and maintain data efficiently. Beyond technical skills, I developed an understanding of data reliability, pipeline efficiency, and the importance of accurate data for decision-making. This experience laid the foundation for my ability to design systems that handle high-volume, real-world data and taught me to approach problems with both technical rigor and practical impact.

University at Buffalo

Buffalo, New York, USA

Graduate Research Intern

Fall 2020 – Fall 2021

I conducted research on biometric authentication systems, building web apps to collect and analyze large-scale user data. The role combined technical development with research methodology, teaching me to translate complex datasets into actionable insights. Through machine learning, statistical analysis, and cloud deployment, I gained experience in creating systems that are both user-aware and technically sound. This research helped me understand the intersection of AI, usability, and real-world impact, shaping how I approach building responsible systems today.
